What is it?
Dysport is the newest available FDA-approved wrinkle relaxer (botulinum toxin type A). Dysport is a prescription injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and forehead.
Dysport is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles to form over time. the protein was initially used for the treatment of motor disorders and involuntary muscular spasms. It was further developed to treat a variety of neuromuscular disorders, for which it is licensed in over 60 countries. Dysport has been used for cosmetic purposes throughout Europe and other countries for years.
Who is this for?
Dysport is ideal for both men and women who are concerned with preventing and reversing the aging process. For some, Dysport is used as early as their 20's in order to prevent the formation of deep lines and wrinkles. However, Dysport can be used ongoing to reduce and soften the appearance of existing fine lines and wrinkles. Smooth lines and restore a youthful, less stressed expression to your face.
Some of the most common areas of treatment include; forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet, peri-oral lines, marionette lines, chin dimples, platysmal (neck) bands, brow lift and excessive sweating.
How does it work?
Dysport is a simple, effective, non-surgical treatment, administered by a series of tiny injections that relax facial muscles, thereby reducing and smoothing away lines and wrinkles.
Dysprt is a protein that relaxes the targeted muscles. the Dysport protein is slightly smaller than traditional wrinkle relaxers, which result in the formation of fewer antibodies against it. Hence, theoretically, with fewer antibodies being formed the clinical effects of Dysport should last longer than those of other wrinkle relaxer treatments.
Generally, Dysport will take between 2-4 days for onset. Results can last up to six months.
