What is it?

Spider veins can now be treated safely and effectively without needles. We offer the latest in both laser and pulsed light technologies for leg vein treatment. Our Lux1064 laser treats leg veins so effectively that many of them will disappear right before your eyes. Laser vein treatment can also be used for veins on other areas of the body, such as the face.

Who is this for?

Anyone with unattractive, perhaps painful veins should have them treated through the simple, precise and convenient procedures that can be performed in our office. There is no reason to endure the discomfort and embarrassment of spider and varicose veins anymore. Hereditary factors, pregnancy, hormones and injury are the primary contributing factors in the development of spider veins in the legs. Although these veins carry blood, they are not a necessary component of normal circulation, and therefore can be safely treated and minimized.

How does it work?

The light energy heats the hemoglobin (red pigment in the blood) within the vessel, causing the vessel walls to constrict. The vessel then shrinks and fades from view. The StarLux system has two key technologies, Smooth Pulse Delivery and Active Contact Cooling, which protect the surface skin from a rapid rise in temperature. This results in far more comfortable treatments, and allows the safe delivery of more energy to the vessels, yielding more effective results.

It should be noted that multiple treatment sessions may be required to achieve the desired result, and in rare instances, some vessels may not respond. Common side effects include mild bruising immediately after the treatment and a transient brown discoloration of the treated area lasting for several weeks following the procedure.
