Sun Damage Treatment

Over exposure to the sun's damaging ultraviolet light can lead to skin cancers, wrinkles, brown spots and leathery skin. Sun damage accumulates over time and it is never too late to begin a skin cancer prevention regimen. Kalia Dermatology can help you repair and prevent these signs of skin aging caused by damage from the sun.

Sunscreen

Always use a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15.  Sunscreen is probably one of the most important ways you can prevent the signs of aging as well as skin cancer. It is also one of the most overlooked parts of a skin care regimen. By decreasing damage from UV light, sunscreen allows your skin to heal and repair some of the damage.

Hydration

Exposure to the sun can dry out your skin which can make the skin appear even more wrinkled and damaged. Moisturizers that contain ingredients such as  hyaluronic acid and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) can help restore your skin's youthful radiance and may also stimulate the production of collagen, a substance that help give skin its elasticity.

Treat the Brown Spots with Creams

Skin lighteners do not actually turn the skin white, rather they help to lighten the accumulation of unwanted darker colors. At Kalia we offer a range of products that contain ingredients such as retinoids, hydroquinone, steroids and even some all natural botanicals that have been proven to lighten brown spots and discoloration caused by sun damage.

Laser and Light Procedures

Photodynamic therapy can decrease the appearance wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and discoloration all during a lunch time break. You can look years younger with our Photofacials and Fractional Laser treatments.
